LEGAL OBLIGATION
Producer is a person who performs activities with which he places electrical and electronic equipment on the market in the Republic of North Macedonia for the first time or imports as an end user equipment, with the use of which waste products are created.
Trader is any legal or natural person who in the supply chain makes the equipment available on the market. A trader can be a producer at the same time.
End user is a natural or legal person who, for his own needs and not for sale, acquires equipment from which waste equipment is generated after the use.
Municipality is a unit of local self-government, as a community of residents of a certain area, determined by law, which through its organs and through the administration and organized public services, enables the exercise of the powers prescribed by law.

If your company annually places on the market in the Republic of North Macedonia or as an end user imports equipment without an intermediary over 100 kg from categories 1 (temperature exchange equipment), 2 (screens and monitors and equipment containing screens with an area greater than 100 cm2) and 4 (large equipment) or over 50 kg from categories 3 (lights), 5 (small equipment) and 6 (small information and telecommunication equipment), become our member and take advantage of the benefits we offer.

WHAT HAPPENS TO COLLECTED WASTE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT?

In general, the collected waste electrical and electronic equipment after sorting in accordance with the List of types of waste (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia No. 100/05) is only subjected to treatment that implies disassembly and then handed over to licensed recyclers. Part of the equipment that contains dangerous chemicals (eg. refrigerators, air conditioners, lamps) and for which there are no licensed companies in the country, as a complete device/product is taken out of the country and handed over to licensed companies. At the moment, only a small part of the waste equipment is returned as raw material back to the production process in our country.
