"Recycling" means any process of reuse of waste materials in the production process for the original purpose or for other purposes, except for energy recovery, where energy recovery implies the use of combustible waste as a means to generate energy through direct combustion with or without another waste, but with heat production.

"Reuse" means any proceeding in which the waste equipment or its component parts are used for the same purpose for which they were made, including further use of the equipment or its components that are returned to traders, collection points, collection centers, installations for recycling of waste equipment or to producers.

"Prevention" means measures aimed to reduce the quantity of waste equipment and harmful environmental impacts that arise from the waste equipment, as well as materials and substances contained in such equipment.
